The transportation objective includes the installation of ETCS track-side equipment and, consequently, the improvement of the modal split in favor of rail by establishing technical interoperability on the international TEN corridors.
In the corridor (Prague -) border – Dresden – (Berlin/Leipzig), the European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 2 in Baseline 3 is to be fully operational. In the planning area between Dresden-Reick (DRK) and Schöna (DSN), new DSTW technology is to be implemented to replace the existing signal box technology. Until ETCS L2 is fully implemented in the direction of Berlin/Leipzig, the transition to ETCS L2 is to take place at Dresden-Reick. ETCS L2oS is to be installed between Heidenau (DHD) and Schöna (DSN).
The changes resulting from the renewal of the control and signaling technology will affect rail operations on the border section between Správa železnic and DB InfraGO AG. During preparation and planning, the relevant departments of Správa železnic must be involved in the necessary coordination to the extent required.
The supplementary agreement to the infrastructure interconnection contract between DB InfraGO AG and DB Regio-Netz Infrastruktur GmbH – SŽDC for the Bad Schandau – Děčín border section (Supplementary Agreement Bad Schandau – Děčín) must be adapted to the target state.
