Data Collection

SATengine maps railway infrastructure while it is in operation and transforms large volumes of survey data into precise digital track models.
From data collection and automated object recognition to integration with GIS and CAD, SATengine provides the foundation for safe, cost-effective, and future-ready infrastructure projects.
Mobile mapping, LiDAR technology, and AI enable fast, high-precision surveys without disrupting operations. The resulting data is processed efficiently and made available for design, documentation, and asset management.

Data Factory: SIGNON’s innovative end-to-end data platform for digital rail operations. It connects multimodal sensor and vehicle data with secure data logistics and sovereign on-premise infrastructure. Scalable processing with AI, computer vision and analytics, combined with hybrid cloud connectivity, turns it into an integrated data ecosystem. Raw data is transformed into quality-assured data products and digital representations of rail infrastructure – for maintenance, condition assessment and asset data management.

InfraAI automates the detection, classification, and localization of railway infrastructure assets to create and maintain accurate digital infrastructure records. Using track inspection data, imagery, and point clouds, InfraAI transforms large volumes of measurement data into actionable information for design, asset management, and acceptance inspections.

Hosted in a secure data center in Frankfurt, InfraAI combines automated data processing with advanced AI analytics to deliver faster results, higher data quality, and consistent infrastructure documentation. The solution reduces manual effort, supports the continuous updating of asset inventories, and contributes to safer and more efficient railway operations.

SATvalid streamlines ETCS balise acceptance testing by replacing time-consuming manual inspections with automated data collection during regular rail operations. Using ETCS-equipped trains and camera-based measurement technology, relevant balise information is captured automatically, including asset location, identification data, and balise telegram content.

The collected data provides a reliable basis for structured as-built versus design comparisons, significantly reducing effort, minimizing operational disruption, and improving process efficiency. By leveraging existing train movements, SATvalid helps avoid track closures while accelerating acceptance procedures and enhancing data quality.

BIM

From design to operation, our BIM experts create accurate digital models that increase transparency, improve collaboration, and enable efficient project delivery. With extensive experience in railway systems, we provide reliable BIM solutions for signaling, overhead contact line, telecommunications, and power supply infrastructure.

Using Autodesk Revit™, OLAcad, and project-specific component libraries, we develop structured BIM models in accordance with applicable BIM standards, Employer’s Information Requirements , and BIM Execution Plans. Our models provide a reliable digital representation of technical systems, improving transparency, coordination, and decision-making across all project phases.

A robust quality assurance process, continuous model validation, and IFC-compliant data delivery ensure seamless collaboration within multidisciplinary project environments and Common Data Environments (CDE).

Network studies

Our network studies provide the technical foundation for informed decisions throughout the lifecycle of railway power infrastructure. Using advanced simulation and analysis methods, we evaluate complex traction power systems for new-build, upgrade, and existing railway projects.

From network modelling and train performance simulations to load flow, short-circuit, and operational scenario analyses, our studies identify risks, optimize system design, and support investment decisions. The results improve reliability, increase operational safety, and ensure efficient, future-ready power supply systems.

Radio field design

Reliable radio coverage begins with precise analysis. Using state-of-the-art simulation software, we analyse the propagation of radio signals, identify potential sources of interference and evaluate different coverage scenarios even before implementation. In this way, we provide a sound basis for decision-making regarding high-performance and future-proof communication networks in railway infrastructure, buildings, industrial plants and critical facilities. Our simulations take into account, amongst other things, structural conditions, frequency bands, coverage objectives and potential interference.
